This blanket is a unique piece entirely handmade by talented artisans from the Moroccan Atlas.

In this creation, the symbols used are amulets and all are charged with protection and life force.

  • The serpent, in its two forms, symbolizes fertility, which represents life, but also the life-giving force that animates the world.

  • The fish skeleton evokes magic and medicinal properties.

  • The finger and the stairs represent symbols of protection against the evil eye.

    The symbols of this plaid are grouped here to form a composition that can represent an abstract landscape.


    By wrapping yourself in this blanket, it will bring you warmth and shelter, like a protective cape, an armor.


Origin

All of Sarah's creations, the founder of Castelli, are imagined in collaboration with artists from the Mediterranean basin. For this piece in particular, the design was beautifully thought out by Diane Villeneuve.
The production is entirely done by hand by families of weavers in Morocco who have perfectly mastered this know-how passed down from generation to generation.

Castelli Création

Castelli Sarah, creator of Castelli Store, is a great fan of contemporary art and decoration. She is a member of the collective for the promotion of music and visual art (AsenZar), and co-founder of Nomad Art, an association of artists who experiment with art in its different forms.
 
In 2018, during a long trip to the country where she was born and raised, Sarah Castelli rediscovered the richness of Moroccan craftsmanship with Berber, Jewish, Arab, and other influences.
This love for craftsmanship mixed with his passion for contemporary art, gives rise to Castelli store. A collaborative project between international artisans and artists, offering artisans the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and artists the opportunity to express their art through new materials, such as carpets.
